How I define the Soul.
Imagine that you are in another dimension. You’re a shimmering rainbow of energy and light, shifting, moving, part of everything and yet aware in an individual way. But in this place you can’t touch or taste or feel; you are unable to have a tactile interaction with the other “individualities” around you.
You will of course be familiar with online gaming, scenarios in which you create a character and “play” it within the confines and parameters of the game you have chosen to participate. Now imagine that someone created a virtual, holographic game in which you are able to merge your whole shimmering being within a “suit” of various materials, atoms arranged to form your physical body. When you merge into this suit you can touch, taste, hear, see, feel and experience millions of different sensations and emotions within this game.
This is the riskiest game of all and the hardest to play however. Here’s why: before you enter the game you must program into yourself the guidelines and directions for why you’re entering it and what you want to achieve so that you have your perfect blueprint encoded within you.
But here’s the rub; the only way to enter the game is as a tiny newborn and while you have a knowing as a very small child of why you’re here, your program is overlaid with information from those who care for you, such as their intentions, their beliefs, dogmas, fears, love, prejudices etc. And then you start school and you have a whole new set of expectations and demands put on you. Basically your perfect program is “corrupted” by the beliefs, prejudices and demands of the world around you. And aspects of those perspectives, biases and needs, which may work perfectly for others, are just like computer viruses for you.
So you wind up feeling lost and bewildered. But you have a deep dim awareness that there’s something more that you could have, or should be doing. The difficulty is that because you can no longer remember the reason for which you entered the game, you struggle to identify, clarify and grow that awareness.
None the less you still are that shimmering, glorious, energetic being inhabiting your “suit”. This luminous vibrant being is what I call the Soul. The true Soul maintains that full blueprint, which awaits access and discovery. The Soul cannot override your program without your permission. It gives you clues all the time, that little thing you call intuition. Your Inner Tuition… your Inner Tutor speaks to you through signs and synchronicities, flashes of insight, the random book that falls open at the perfect page… or off the shelf in front of you. You know when you say or read or hear something and you get shimmering goose bumps all over? That’s your Soul affirming that what just occurred accords with your inner blueprint.
Your Soul knows what to do, what to say, how to Be in every situation. And the key to success is in learning to listen to it. And most importantly learning to TRUST it, no matter how bizarre or scary it seems to you or those around you who think they have a better program for you.
The Soul has access to that other dimension in which you belong and can arrange everything you need before you even know you need it. I’ve proven this for myself over and over again and I now simply get on with living my life and doing my work and trusting that whatever I need will be arranged for me. At first glance this strategy may sound like a cop-out way of living, but it actually frees you up to be exceptionally present and at peace with where you are. This way of living alleviates the need to plan the future in minute detail. Even when it’s necessary to be organized for something in the future, when you learn to trust, everything falls into place.
You’ve probably heard and read all the ideas about the benefits of specifically articulating what you want from your future. Books like The Secret expound this notion all the time. But, here’s the flaw in that way of thinking- you can only paint your picture of the future with what you ALREADY know!
So you work it all out and put all your energy into defining that which you want. And yes, you may get it. Maybe however, just out of view is a perfect modification to your identified plan, or a totally different life which you could never in your wildest dreams have imagined… because it’s beyond what you already know!
A couple of years ago, I did a vision board, a big sheet of cardboard onto which I glued pictures. Images of how I think I would like my home and garden to look, ideas I had for doing healing work and for travel, of my family and a man with whom to share the journey… And I found that as I put my thoughts and energy into the board and cut out the pictures and arranged them, I’d get a really strong shimmering inside for the ones that were in harmony with my Soul. Some things never made it onto the board because when I really looked, those pictures didn’t feel aligned with me. Then I stepped back from the project. I endowed the board with my trust, credence that whatever images I had selected were in harmony with my purpose, and would manifest at the right time. Importantly I now leave myself open for new unimagined and unexpected things to come along as well as, or instead of, what I have envisioned.
We each have a perfect advisor within us. When you acknowledge, that wise voice, following and trusting become so much easier.
When I do a session for you, I only see and hear what your Soul wants me to know, what it wants your ears to hear. (Quantum physics helps to explain this phenomenon, but a further explanation on that will have to wait until next time!) By connecting with your Soul, I support you in whatever way is needed to facilitate peace, healing and understanding wherever or however it is needed in your being. To me, my work does not involve divine beings, angels or God. The work is about my Soul connecting with yours. When I’m doing a distance healing for someone, we’re simply using our Soul’s personal wifi. And my goal is always to strengthen your connection with your own Soul.
